Textbooks play a crucial role as fundamental educational materials. this study aims to analyze secondary biology textbooks with a focus on acronyms and eponyms. using the document analysis method, the study was designed within the framework of qualitative research. acronyms and eponyms were identified and analyzed in eight textbooks, including those for grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 in both general and science high schools. The findings of the study reveal that many of these terms, widely used in educational materials, lack sufficient explanations. This study is expected to be significant in emphasizing the role of textbooks in the teaching-learning process, addressing the limited research on acronyms and eponyms, and drawing attention to the need for better clarification of these terms.
