The quality of the animals to be used in
experimental research with laboratory animals is directly related to the value
of the research. It is very important to take precautions against biological
hazards, infections, that may be encountered in research with laboratory
animals, and to ensure biosecurity. In this section, information on biological
hazards, zoonotic diseases, appropriate working conditions, biosafety and
disposal of medical wastes, which should be considered when conducting research
with laboratory animals, is explained.
